Under its previous ownership as Jayli’s Filipino Cafe, this spot used to serve fresh, well-cooked meals. Unfortunately, the new restaurant, Sarap Filipiniana, has not lived up to that standard. On my first visit (Tuesday), the food was fresh and decent. However, returning the next day made it clear they serve leftovers, as the meat I ordered was incredibly dry. When I stopped by on Thursday around 6:00 PM, they were already packing up to close and selling off the remaining display food. I ordered two breakfast meals to ensure they would be cooked fresh, which took about 10 minutes. While waiting, the owner, Dindo, suggested I also take some chicken adobo to go. It was a major disappointment—the adobo was completely dry. I messaged the store to complain about being sold old, overcooked food and requested to cancel an order I had placed for the 4th of July. Dindo reassured me that they would make it right and ensure everything was fresh for the holiday. Unfortunately, my July 4th pickup was a disaster. Was craving Filipino food and decided to try Sarap Filipiniana, so glad I did! Got food for take out and ordered the spaghetti, lumpia, and BBQ combo for $12.99. Pleasantly surprised when I got home and saw that the portions were huge! And of course, it was delicious. My hubby got an all-day silog (longanisa) combo and really enjoyed it too. The palabok combo was the standout for me. The sauce was so good, and they were generous with the tinapa flakes, which added so much flavor. Definitely my instant fave! The place is newly opened and could use a little zhuzhing up, but I'm looking forward to seeing how they decorate the space as they settle in. Will definitely be coming back! 🇵🇭😋
